FORECASTING FOR POLICY MAKING

What

Selected applicants will have the chance to attend an interactive workshop on forecasting for policy making, with a specific focus on SDGs and sustainability. The workshop will be delivered by OECD; participants will be requested to pitch their research ideas and will receive feedback from senior scholars in the field.

Who

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation that works to build better policies for better lives. Its goal is to shape policies that foster prosperity, equality, opportunity and well-being for all.

Within OECD, the New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC) initiative develops a systemic perspective on interconnected challenges, identifying the analytical and policy tools to understand them and crafting the narratives best able to convey them to policymakers. OECD has established a NAEC Innovation LAB, co-ordinated by the NAEC Unit and the Office of the Chief Economist, to promote experimentation within the OECD on agent-based modelling (ABM), machine learning, big data applications, and network analysis.
